1. क्वालिटी में सुधार- पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट मेडिकल एजुकेशन बोर्ड के अनुसार, स्पेशलिस्ट डॉक्टरों की पढ़ाई के मानकों को बेहतर बनाए रखने के लिए यह निर्णय लिया गया है।
2. संसाधनों का सही इस्तेमाल- कई मेडिकल कॉलेजों के पास पर्याप्त इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर और संसाधन मौजूद हैं, फिर भी वे सिर्फ डिप्लोमा कोर्स करवा रहे हैं। अब इन संसाधनों का उपयोग डिग्री कोर्सेस के लिए किया जाएगा।
3. सीटों का फायदा- एक ही स्पेशलिटी में डिप्लोमा और MD/MS दोनों कोर्स चलने की परेशानी खत्म होगी, जिससे PG सीटों की क्षमता का पूरा लाभ मिलेगा।
MD और MS डिग्री में बदलेंगे सभी कोर्स
NMC ने साफ कहा है कि, अब सभी तरह के पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट डिप्लोमा कोर्सेस को खत्म करके उन्हें ‘पीजी ब्रॉड स्पेशलिटी’ डिग्री कोर्स यानी MD और MS में बदल दिया जाएगा।
‘पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट मेडिकल एजुकेशन रेगुलेशंस (PGMER) 2023’ के नियमों के तहत मेडिकल कॉलेज अपनी डिप्लोमा सीटों को डिग्री सीटों में बदलने के लिए ‘मेडिकल असेसमेंट एंड रेटिंग बोर्ड’ (MARB) को आवेदन भेज सकते हैं।
वर्तमान छात्रों पर क्या पड़ेगा असर?
जिन छात्रों ने मौजूदा शैक्षणिक सत्र में पीजी डिप्लोमा कोर्सेस में एडमिशन ले लिया है, उन्हें घबराने की जरूरत नहीं है। उनकी पढ़ाई सामान्य रूप से पूरी कराई जाएगी और उन्हें डिप्लोमा की मान्यता भी मिलेगी।
कब से लागू होगा नया नियम?
. सोमवार, 22 जून 2026 को NMC ने इस संबंध में देशभर के मेडिकल कॉलेजों और यूनिवर्सिटीज के साथ बातचीत की है।
. कॉलेज प्रशासन को 19 जून को जारी नोटिस के नियमों को जल्द से जल्द लागू करने को कहा गया है।
. अगले सेशन यानी 2027-28 से पीजी डिप्लोमा कोर्सेस में कोई नया एडमिशन नहीं लिया जाएगा। इसकी जगह केवल NEET-PG के जरिए MD और MS डिग्री कोर्सेस में ही दाखिले होंगे।
